Straw marquetry has been a French tradition since the 17^th century, when  the first cases, caskets, furniture were made, now treasured as antiques. Today, straw marquetry is most of the time associated with the Art Deco style. Straw marquetry uses similar techniques as wood marquetry and the  same decorative motifs. The great advantage of this craft is that anyone can design and produce sophisticated pieces of furniture from a raw and simple material : a strand of straw , natural or dyed. Passion and patience are the two keywords for me while working. Reviving a craft is an extraordinary adventure, which allows me to maintain a traditional art mastered by my grand-father André Groult, well-known decorator in the 1920s.

I started with restoration and went on developing contemporary techniques such as  screens, stylized furniture and decoration of entire room, covering  walls with this luminous and practical material.
