Allée Lison de Caunes
On Friday 11 October 2024, Ateliers Lison de Caunes stood alongside Lison at the inauguration of the alleyway that now bears her name in the town of Saint-Quentin (Aisne).

"Thank you Mrs Mayor, thank you Jean-Claude and Anne Lallement and thank you to the Municipal Council for agreeing to this name, apparently unanimously.
At the same time, I learnt a new word: odonymy or the art of naming streets, avenues, alleys...
I can't begin to tell you how astonished I am - and that's putting it mildly - and how proud I am to have a driveway named after me, but above all in my own lifetime! It's only a short step from there to thinking that all I have to do now is die, but I don't intend to take that step any time soon.
I'm particularly flattered that my pathway leads to the furniture college in Saint-Quentin, where the future generation of craftsmen are trained. As proof, Emma Valentini, a former pupil of the school, joined the workshop over a month ago. The circle is complete.
I would also like to thank my family and friends who have made the trip, those who have believed, more or less, in me for over 40 years as I have persisted in making straw marquetry a luxurious and prestigious product. For my part, I've always believed in it, and today's tribute probably proves me right.
I would also like to thank all the members of my workshop for their talent and patience in working with this beautiful material.
My thoughts are with Jean-Luc Rodot, who works hard in his field to supply me with this beautiful rye straw, because it's also thanks to him that this craft has grown so rapidly.
And finally, a thought for my two daughters, Clémentine and Pauline. I hope they are as proud of me as I am of them.
