Straw marquetry workshop

To help you discover the techniques of straw marquetry, we organise introductory courses once a month in our workshops. These courses last 2 days and are led by Shan, our workshop manager, who will be delighted to share her passion for straw marquetry with you.

These courses require no previous training and are open to anyone wishing to immerse themselves in this unique technique for a weekend. Shan will adapt the course to your level. Those who have never worked with straw marquetry will learn how to prepare the material and create a panel with several basic motifs, essential for mastering the skill. For those who have already attended a course or who would like to improve their skills, the inlay and compound fillet techniques will be presented.

Location
The courses take place in our Paris workshops at 24 rue Mayet in the 6th arrondissement, on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 4pm.

Rate
300€ for the two-day course. A deposit of €150 will be required on registration.
Our prices for introductory courses have been revised for 2026 to fully reflect the quality of the experience we offer.

Hardware
All the necessary materials will be provided. You will leave with your creation at the end of the course.
Practical information:
- The studio is a 10-minute walk from Montparnasse station.
- The nearest metro stations are Duroc (lines 10 and 13) and Falguière (line 12).
- A space will be provided for lunch. You are free to bring your own lunch. A number of shops and bakeries are open nearby.

Registrations for courses can only be made by e-mail. By filling in the form below, you will receive an e-mail listing the dates of the courses for the coming semester and the date on which registrations will open.

All courses for the first half of 2026 are fully booked.
The dates of the courses for the second half of 2026 will be notified by e-mail in February 2026.

Our courses are victims of their own success! More than 1,000 people are waiting for a place on a straw marquetry course, but unfortunately we can only accommodate 10 people per month to guarantee a high standard of service. So it's impossible to sign up for several courses at once, and we give priority to people who have never taken a course in our workshops.
